Dentures can be a great way to replace missing teeth, and can be obtained at our dental practice, Robert Silbilia DMD. At the office of our Mansfield local dentist, patients can be perfectly fitted by our dentist, Dr. Robert Sibilia, for dentures that are attractive, comfortable, and fully functional.
Once you get your dentures from our Mansfield local dentist, it is important that you take excellent care of them. Before you leave our dental practice with your new dentures, you will be provided with instructions on how to take care of your particular dentures. Our dentist will let you know how long to wear the dentures, and when to remove them. In the beginning, when you first receive your dentures, you may be told to wear your dentures all the time, including while you sleep. Although this may not be the most comfortable thing to do, it is the best way to find out if there any areas on the dentures which may need adjustments. Once the adjustment period is over, you will be instructed to remove the dentures before you go to bed. This way your gum tissues will be able to rest overnight, and can be normally stimulated and cleansed by the tongue and saliva in your mouth. The dentures should be put back into your mouth in the morning when you awaken. You will want to speak to our dentists regarding whether or not you should use denture adhesive. In some cases, using denture adhesive may be desirable. Denture adhesives may enhance denture stability and bite force. You may also feel more secure when you use denture adhesive. Denture adhesive should never be used instead of returning to the dentist if you are having a denture problem. If dentures feel loose, or uncomfortable in some manner, you should contact our office for an appointment. It is important that you come in for periodic checking of your dentures to make sure that they are still fitting your mouth comfortably and are functioning properly.
